About Us

Thaxted Baptist Church began its ministry in 1833, and today our current membership is 26, with approximately 20 other attendees.  We have a 10.30am Sunday service where our average weekly congregation numbers around 25, with ages ranging from 10 to 100!  We are currently in a period of interregnum, but have been blessed with a number of excellent speakers who have been bringing us God's Word, helping lead our services, and encouraging us all.

We extend a very warm welcome to everyone , so do come and join us whether you are just visiting the town, have recently moved to the area, or seek to know more about Jesus.

We are evangelical in outlook and have a good relationship with the other churches in the town, leading an initiative for regular meetings for prayer and Bible study through 'Thaxted Churches Together'.  We join together in united events such as Remembrance Sunday, and share in the joing churches magazine which is produced three times a year and delivered to every home in the parish.  We publish our our own monthly newsletter and diary, which is available from within the church, and the diary pages are available on our website within our What's On page.
