Greatereuropemission (GEM) is a christian mission organisation that seeks to bring the good news of Jesus to people across Europe. Thaxted Baptist Church supports Rachel Spencer in France where she ministers in a local community. Rachel works for Greater Europe Mission in a suburb of Paris, France, one of the most multicultural communities of the Parisian region. With high levels of immigration and many people living in poverty, there are a lot of material, social, and spiritual needs in the area. Rachel works with a local church and a couple of Christian charities to meet these needs in various ways. This includes befriending people and creating space for community to develop, offering support groups for people who have experienced trauma, parenting support, language help, and practical help such as filling in immigration forms. In all this, Rachel and those she works with seek to demonstrate Christ’s love and look for opportunities to share the good news of the gospel. To learn more about the mission please click here.
